Wedding Dress Inspiration- Grace of Monaco

Wedding Dress Inspiration- Grace of Monaco

Grace Kelly, a film star turned monarch, was known for her poise and her immaculate style. The American starlet was known for her award winning performances in films including ‘Dial M For Murder’ and ‘Rear Window’. In 1956 Grace Kelly switched from the silver screen to royalty and philanthropy when she married Prince Rainier of Monaco (pictured).

The princess’ dress was designed by costume designer Helen Rose. The lace bodice was embellished all over with seed pearls and the skirt and ruched waistband was made out of silk. The long-sleeved top and the waist-defining skirt remains as a classic look for brides. Lace sleeves can vary in length whether you want a vintage long sleeve or three-quarter sleeve for a more modern look. The bridal look of Grace of Monaco could also be achieved with a lace bodysuit and a Mikado skirt worn together like the image below.
