Since it’s been over 10 years since Huw Rees Brides was launched, we’d thought about celebrating this longevity by taking a nostalgia trip and talk to Huw himself about his first times- wedding related.
First wedding you’ve attended
“The first wedding I attended was the civil ceremony of a family friend, it was low key, a floral tea dress and a floppy hat!”
First handmade item for a wedding
“The first handmade item was my sister’s wedding dress. It was such an honour to be entrusted to create such an important garment which would be a lasting memory for my sister. It was in rosebud embroidered silk with guipure lace detailing. It went on to be featured on This Morning!”

“Our first bespoke dress at Huw Rees was for Llinos Davies, we designed and made the gown, bridesmaids and the mother of the bride. The family have remained great friends and we are in the process of creating a bespoke gown for her sister Eirlys.”
